Ancient Arts, Textiles and Photography

Japan, Kanazawa, Geisha tourist girls

Japan has long been a mysterious place for any visitor. It is a country full of surprises, that has a very protected culture and can only be glimpsed if the right doors are opened.

Having just just returned from an extensive trip to Japan, Gina will lead her first tour there, looking at the ancient arts, including textiles, embroidery, Japanese dress and photography.

Gina Corrigan
In 1989 Gina organised her first textile tour to South West China and, from then on, became fascinated by the textiles. She began collecting costumes and textiles from Guizhou Province because she was worried that they were going to disappear from common use. Her collection has been exhibited at three major venues in U.K. She wrote and illustrated the Odyssey Guide to Guizhou, which was first published in 1995 and a photographic book 'Images of China' published in 1997.
